The company ZHENDRE originates from the family business
founded soon after the second world war by Robert,
Paul and Louis ZHENDRE, respectively grandfather,
uncle and father of the current President Alexandre
ZHENDRE
In 1950, the construction of its first autonomous
refrigerated container caused a stir.
In 1955, Louis ZHENDRE decides to set up his own
company, under the name: ACFT Louis ZHENDRE. The
initials, ACFT for “Atelier de Construction
Frigorifiques Tropicales», therefore set,
as from the beginning, the specialisation of the
company in refrigerated equipment intended to hot
climate countries, and its international vocation.

of activity: the air conditioning, which it develops
under its own brand ZENITHAIR.
Third generation family business, Limited company
since 1995, ZHENDRE pursues its strategy of a controlled
expansion, which grants it an eminent place world-wide

At the end of the 50’s, the company undertakes
a decisive experience. Within the framework of the
oil searches undertaken in the Algerian desert,
ZHENDRE namely takes part in the crossing of Algeria
to Chad, the famous “BERLIET-TENERE”
mission. The experience brought back from the south-Saharan
epopee will be at the origin of the development
of its Division: Refrigeration for Extreme Conditions.
